Here’s the lake-country truth: we’re about three minutes from the same place they’re going — the Diamond Lake public boat launch on Lake Street in Cassopolis. Dual concrete ramps, a dock, parking for trailers. On summer mornings that launch gets busy for a reason. Diamond Lake is over a thousand acres of real Michigan water, and Kamp Kozy sits right on the path people already know.
And if you want a quieter option closer to town, Stone Lake is only about five minutes from DGC — roughly 150 acres in Cassopolis with a public boat launch, a village beach and pier, and solid fishing for bass, bluegill, and crappie. Big lake or hometown lake: both are right in the neighborhood.

02 — Progress this week
Asphalt, doors, and the details that stick
A lot landed in a few days — the kind of progress you notice the second you pull up and again when you walk inside.
Asphalt parking lot — the blacktop story from Monday is still the first thing you see. Smooth pull-in, clean edge, room for trailers and the weekend load-out. If you missed that post, it’s worth the scroll.
Upgraded garage doors — the three bays got a better door all the way through: a more efficient unit for Michigan seasons, and a nicer interior finish you’ll see every time you walk in. Outside still reads clean — black panels, window lights across the middle, lit at dawn. First impression matters when you’re storing something you care about.
Detailing our condo — finishes that turn square footage into a lifestyle: kitchenette nearly complete (shelves, kickplate, and black pulls still to go), interior doors hung, spaces that feel intentional instead of temporary.
03 — Kitchenette, nearly complete
The fridge is in. The weekend starts upstairs.
Gray shaker cabinets, black counter, white subway tile, and a glass-door beverage fridge that says you can actually hang out here.
Boat downstairs. Cold drinks upstairs. That’s the whole DGC weekend in one sentence. The mezzanine kitchenette is no longer a vision board — it’s built, tiled, and stocked, and nearly complete. Still to finish: the walnut floating shelves, the finished kickplate, and the black pulls/handles. Once those go on, this kitchenette is done. Come tour it in person if you’ve only seen the renders.
04 — Interior doors + septic
Hung doors. Individual septic. Real infrastructure.
This week also closed two quiet-but-huge items: finished interior doors in the units, and each unit’s individual septic system in the ground.
05 — Lake country, car country
Car show energy in Niles — minutes from DGC
We caught a full field of classics and muscle cars at Front Street Pizza Pub in downtown Niles — 510 N. Front Street, riverside patio, pizza and cold taps while the show fills the grass.
That’s the lifestyle orbit around Diamond Garage Condos: boat mornings on Diamond Lake or Stone Lake, car-show afternoons a short drive into Niles, and a bay at DGC that can hold the toys for both. Front Street Pizza Pub sits on the river with that patio view — worth knowing if your weekend includes chrome, cold beer, and a slow walk between hoods.
