The work
Crews, family, and a finished building
Steel stairs. Primer on the walls. Asphalt in July. Individual septic. Upgraded doors. A kitchenette that is no longer a drawing.
Labor Day Weekend · September 5, 2026
Labor Day is not only a day off. It is a pause to honor the work that got you here. On Kamp Kozy, that work is standing in steel, stone, blacktop, and a finished bay you can walk into.
Labor Day weekend is for boats, cars, and time with the people who show up. Diamond Garage Condos was built for that kind of weekend. This year, we get to spend it looking at a building that started as an idea in a field — and is now a place.
A year ago this was dirt, flags, and a plan. Then it was framing. Then stairs. Then paint. Then blacktop. Then a kitchenette fridge humming upstairs while the fishermen rolled past with boats in tow.
This post is a thank-you to the work — and a look at what that work made possible. Building 1 is finished: three condos, two available today. And there is more coming on this property than we can fit in one holiday weekend.
01 — The spirit of the day
Labor Day belongs to the people who built things with their hands, their crews, and their time. DGC exists because of that kind of work — and because lake-country weekends deserve a place that can hold the toys.
The work
Steel stairs. Primer on the walls. Asphalt in July. Individual septic. Upgraded doors. A kitchenette that is no longer a drawing.
The weekend
Three minutes to the Diamond Lake launch. Five to Stone Lake. Climate-controlled space for the car, the UTV, the shop, the hangout.
What is next
Building 1 holds three condos; two are available to buy or lease. Phase 1 will bring twelve units across this three-acre site. Buildings 2 through 4 are still ahead.
02 — The year of the work
This is the short version of a long year. Every line was real labor on Kamp Kozy.
Spring 2026
Site work, framing, three bays taking shape. Steel stairs went in and the mezzanine stopped being a drawing. Family showed up with primer and rollers. That is how a field becomes a building.
May 2026
Drywall, paint, kitchenette upstairs, bathroom on the main floor. The mezzanine became a room you could stand in — not just a platform over a bay.
July 2026
A1-Asphalt paved Building 1. The approach finally matched the architecture. Upgraded garage doors. Interior doors hung. Individual septic in the ground. The kitchenette fridge went in upstairs.
August 2026
The model condo is real: climate-controlled, plumbed, 1,584 square feet. Deeded ownership — land underneath, interior yours, finished within building standards. Not a rental stall.
03 — Building 1, finished
The Lake Bay is the model. This is the proof you can tour: main-floor bay, mezzanine, kitchenette, climate control, and room for the boat or the cars.
Every condo in Building 1 is 1,584 sq ft — 1,200 on the main floor plus a 16′ × 24′ mezzanine. Climate-controlled. Plumbed and roughed in so you can finish the bathroom and the upstairs on your timeline. This complements a lake house. It does not replace one.
Upstairs, the kitchenette is the Labor Day test: gray cabinets, black counter, cold drinks in the glass-door fridge, a window onto the field. Boat downstairs. Weekend upstairs.
04 — Lake-country Labor Day
Holiday traffic on Kamp Kozy is not a problem. It is the market. People already live here. They already own boats and cars. They needed a place that could hold both.
Diamond Lake is about three minutes from the public launch. Stone Lake is about five. Cassopolis is close. Niles car-show energy is a short drive. DGC sits in the middle of how this part of Michigan actually spends a long weekend.
If you have been watching from the road: the lights are on, the asphalt is down, and the model is ready. Come walk it while you are in town for the holiday.
05 — What is coming
Labor Day is a look back. It is also a line in the calendar. The next chapter at DGC is already in motion.
Diamond Garage Condos sits on three acres at Jefferson Park Plaza on Kamp Kozy. When Phase 1 is complete, there will be twelve garage condos in four buildings. Building 1 is finished — three condos, two available today. Buildings 2 through 4 are still ahead on the same site.
The owners of DGC are the same owners as Jefferson Park Plaza — 35 acres of zoned commercial land. The field you drive past on Kamp Kozy is theirs. Phase 1 is the first chapter on a property with room to grow.
We are not going to dump a press release into a holiday post. We will say this plainly: there are exciting things coming at DGC. Tours. The remaining condos. The next work on the property. If you have been waiting for the right moment to walk the model, this weekend is a good one to call.
